Cirripedia Ganeum

Cirripedia Ganeum is a new species of plastic eating barnacles,made/invented by the artist/scientist. The species she called Cirripedia Ganeum referring to it’s gluttonous eating and it’s abilities to rid human kind of it’s over indulgent waste. With oceans and rivers filling up with plastic it’s time to talk about solutions. Can we perhaps make an organism with the help of microbiology?
The piece was exhibited in the Natural History Museum of Vienna, but the museum itself is highly poisonous due to the very old way of preserving specimens with lead. The museum itself thus needs
cleaning but what is our definition of clean? Do we trust nature to clean up our mess?
